Nikon Press Photo Awards 2011 winners known.
Winner of the Nikon Press Photo Award 2011 is Jorge Dirkx with his picture of the Arabian Spring in Cairo.(Also the winner of the Dutch ‘Zilveren Camera’ award.
Nominated in both the categories News and Portrait was Sander de Wilde.
These prizes were won by Jorge Dirkx with the mentioned Cairo picture, and by Yann Bertrand with a picture of a Girl at Lake Arthur, Louisiana.

Jamal, 20 jaar, is nummer 23 van de illegalen die al 56 dagen in gebouwen van de VUB bivakkeren. Uit wanhoop heeft hij nu zijn mond dicht genaaid, in de hoop toch een werkvergunning te krijgen.
After 56 days of not eating, this illegal immigrant, age 20, sewed his own mouth to stop even drinking.
